Colgate-Georgetown football game cancelled

10/02/2008 -
Washington, DC (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The football game between the Colgate
Raiders and Georgetown Hoyas scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled.
Due to an outbreak of norovirus on the Georgetown campus, the contest will not
be played.
"Because several members of the team have been infected and others have been
exposed, and because the infection is contagious, after discussion between
medical personnel at both universities and with Colgate's athletic
administration and the Patriot League, the decision has been made not to play
the game," said Georgetown director of athletics Bernard Muir. "A make up date
has not been reached at this time."
Colgate is 3-2 this season (1-0 Patriot), while the conference foe Hoyas are
1-3 with an 0-2 mark in league play. The Raiders will take the field next on
October 11 when they host Princeton, while the Hoyas are scheduled to host
Pennsylvania on the same day.

MySportsbook.com refunds all bets on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay from NFL week one.
(September 14, 2007) – Week one of NFL action saw three teams go scoreless for the first time since 1977. Another four were unable to get a touchdown and almost half of the underdogs covered the spread. Those three teams saved bettors at MySportsbook.com from losing out completely, thanks to the company’s unique NFL Shutout Rule -- which ensures that if the team you backed goes scoreless, your wager is refunded.
MySportsbook.com refunded tens of thousands of dollars to customers who bet on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay, the three teams that stunk up the field so badly that their fans and backers never had a chance to get up from their couches and cheer. In the spirit of the low scoring start to the season, odds makers at the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino have set odds on how many total shutouts there will be this season.
MySportsbook.com has posted updated betting lines for week two of the season. Ben Roethlisberger’s health status is still questionable, so Willie Parker will try to lead Pittsburgh again as they travel to Jacksonville as a one point favorite. After beating up on his little brother last week, Peyton Manning will look to lead the Colts to victory against Houston. Indianapolis is a whopping 13.5 favorite in the match-up.
Seattle, last year’s highest scoring team, showed the power of their defense with their gritty 9-6 win in Motown over the ravenous Lions. They take their act back home to the comforts of Qwest Field where they will face the resurgent Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks are favored by a touchdown.

MySportsbook.com Posts Odds on 2007 Heisman Trophy
With 3,919 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and a mere seven interceptions last season, combined with a powerful South Bend Heisman legacy, odds makers at MySportsbook.com have given Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn the best odds of winning the 2007 Heisman Trophy at 5-2.
Quinn isn’t the only big man on campus this season. Oklahoma junior running back and 2004 Heisman runner-up Adrian Peterson, listed at 7-2, rushed for a combined 3,033 yards in his first two years as a college player and will give Quinn a run for his money.
This online sportsbook has also listed Troy Smith, Ohio State senior quarterback, as another strong favorite to win the 72nd Heisman Trophy. A 7-1 bet, Smith threw for 2,282 yards last season and also led the Buckeyes to a convincing 34-20 victory over Quinn and the Fighting Irish in last season’s Fiesta Bowl.
Current betting odds for the 2007 Heisman trophy are:
